One CDC eviction moratorium expired on July 31st, and the CDC implemented a new order on Tuesday August 3rd.
The new moratorium is similar to the prior one, and renters who have been impacted by Covid -19 are protected from eviction based on nonpayment of rent until October 3rd, 2021, in counties that have high or substantial spread of the coronavirus. This moratorium allows more time for rental assistance programs to provide assistance for tenants in need. Read more about the new moratorium here.
