JMP has officially reached 200 resolutions! We have been working hard since September 2020 to provide mediation services for landlords and tenants with housing disputes. Our staff and community mediators have dedicated their time and skills to help the community avoid evictions and find solutions to a wide array of housing situations. Over 200 participants have identified ways to successfully work together through mediation.
These resolutions have included cases where tenants were behind on rent, by thousands of dollars, and have successfully communicated with landlords through mediation to create a resolution that satisfies both the landlord and tenant. We have mediated in cases where repairs were needed on apartments, and the landlord and tenant were previously unable to successfully address the issues together, but reached an agreement through mediation. Other cases have involved lease violations, discussing end of lease terms, and establishing communication expectations.
JMP also provides referrals to other resources and service providers as needed! We want to make sure that tenants and landlords have the information they need to successfully access resources and work hard to make referrals that will provide assistance.
